A Fight For Ethan

Donation protected

I initially started a GoFundMe account that some of you may have seen. Jimmy and I decided to take it down until we had all of the facts to begin a proper fight for Ethan. Normally Jimmy is not one to ask for help. Well, in this situation, we need help! Major help! My husband, Jimmy and I received awful news on Saturday 4/07/18. Jimmy's ex wife notified us that she will be moving to New York and taking their son, Ethan, who is 9, with her! Jimmy and I are devastated as Ethan is such a huge part of our lives. Jimmy and Ethan have such an incredibly close bond. I know, people may think that, this happens, some parents move their children away from other parents all of the time. It happens every day. But our case is a bit different. Jimmy has always struggled to get the maximum amount of time with Ethan as possible, because his ex refuses to abide by the current parenting plan. Her suggested parenting plan is a slap in our face. Her proposed parenting plan limits Ethan from seeing his Daddy only a few times a year. In which she is stating we must pay all of travel expenses. And as such, we are limited to visiting Ethan in New York part of the time, again, at our expense. That's financially impossible for our family. Jimmy would be “allowed” to fly out to see his son on a 3 day weekend, if school has one, but must provide his ex wife with 45 days notice. This means Ethan’s paternal Grandparent’s, his half sister Alyssa, his step sister Mira , the rest of Jimmy's family as well as mine, and Ethan's friends would rarely get to see him, if at all. Ethan was with us this past weekend. Ethan brought the move up to his Daddy and was initially excited about moving . When we explained the distance and proposed parenting plan, from his mother, Ethan became visibly upset. Which he rarely cries, he always has a smile on his little face! This was the first time I have ever witnessed true heartache and sadness in Ethan, as he clings to his Daddy and the reality of the situation set in. I was barely able to hold back my tears as I watched both, Jimmy and Ethan shedding their tears together. Time is crucial to respond to this completely unreasonable parenting plan. This woman is trying to keep Ethan from his loving Daddy, that he himself adores. With our current combined income, we are only able to pay our monthly living expenses with little to no extra funds to put aside for savings for emergencies like this. Unfortunately, we have little to no savings due to unforeseen expenses. I say this because we have to come up with a $5,000.00 retainer fee for an attorney to try and fight for Ethan to stay in Vancouver, not to give up everything he knows and loves. But if his mother is granted the relocation with Ethan, Ethan wants us to fight for the maximum time to be spent here, back at home with us, his family and friends. Our family will be devastated if we lose Ethan to this ridiculous visitation plan. We are all very close. This is clearly devastating to Ethan and not in his best interest. I'm wondering if you are able to help, even $5.00 or a share on social media. Anything helps. Thank you for taking the time to read our story!
