Volunteer Trip to The Philippines

I am a second year student in college, given a great opportunity to visit and study abroad in The Phillippines and be part of the humanitarian work that is trying to prevent, rescue, and heal current and past victims of Human Trafficking. This summer program is ran by the University of George Mason by one of my inspirational professor who travels to certain countries dealing with Human Trauma and Conflict Resolution and who has been running this program to the Phillippines for several years. I currently take one of his classes in Human Trafficking. This trip will begin and end during the whole month of July 2017.
 All forms of human trafficking is important to address, with sex and labor trafficking being the most prevelant in The Philippines. On top of addressing human trafficking, we will be visiting landfills, and meeting with grassroot organizations and meet those living in poverty and disasterous sites face-to-face. So, I would be entirely honored to be able to go on this trip to give me the experience of the way life revolves in developing countries, and also hope to make a difference since one voice and one's action is better than none.
With the money being raised it will cover my housing, transportation, field excursions, international emergency insurance, most meals, and as well give me six credits towards my field of education-- Integrative Studies. Being an out-of-state student, I have maxed out on any further FA assistance but I have also applied to numerous scholarships but am not sure on my standings yet.
If I am unable to reach the set goal, then all proceeds will then go to the Tambayan Center for children (survivors of sex and labor trafficking in the Philippines) to help these same children go to college as well as help purchase school supplies and hygienic products, so your contributions will not be taken for granted!
