Help me get my baby back home

My name is Valarie Umar. I am a single parent of three young children.

I’ve created this go fund me because I am in need of help.

I recently had a baby in late August and trusted someone to watch my baby for a short while I was experiencing homelessness and trying to get on my feet.

When things got better, I went to pick up my baby and was served a protection order.

I have not seen my baby since October 12. I am also not allowed to contact these people who currently are with holding my child from me. They do not have legal rights to my baby.

I do not understand how the law of Illinois could allow this to happen, but it did and I am doing all in my power to get my baby back home to me. I miss him dearly.

This $2,200 go fund me is to help me pay for a retainer for a lawyer.

I have court next week and I need this money before Tuesday Oct 31 to pay the lawyer.

He graciously is allowing me to pay him last minute to represent me. I just returned to work from maternity leave, I do not have anyone in my personal life that can borrow me the funds so I am left to depend on the kindness of all of you that read this.
