The Mitchell’s are so happy to announce that we have the privilege of adopting our sweet girl from Colombia.

Hello friends and family! Jeff, the kids, and I are so happy to announce that after a yearlong process we are so close to traveling to Colombia as a family of four to complete our adoption and become a family of five forever.

As many of you know, we have always had a deep desire to do something in the adoption community. We have been praying for years for God to make clear the path and which way we should go - and so the journey began.

Last summer we signed up to be a host family for five weeks. When we saw our girl we quickly agreed that we would be so grateful to host her specifically. We immediately reached out to the staff of the organization. Interestingly enough, they told us they had already identified our family as a match for her!

Having her in our home was the greatest gift. She truly is a special soul. Her strength is admirable. She is kind, bright, playful, artistic, and has a resilience that brought us all to tears. There was a natural ease in adding her to the family dynamic and we are excited to continue our journey together. Since leaving in August of last year, she has been back in foster care in Colombia while we worked to finalize the adoption and wait for official travel dates.

International adoption is an incredibly costly endeavor with agency fees, legal expenses, travel costs, and more. We are so grateful for any support you can offer – whether it is a prayer, donation, or simply sharing our story with others. It truly takes a village and we are so grateful for your love and encouragement. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being a part of our adoption journey.
