Hi, this is Penny Macphail, founder of Good Fairy Marin

 

Help us ‘do something' for our neighbors who are currently homeless as darker, colder, wetter weather sets in and the holiday season so often intensifies loneliness and despair.

 

Each year Good Fairy Marin asks several agencies who support folks who are currently homeless what they would most love to get their paws on. And then we fundraise/collect items to help. 

 

The wish list for 2021 is high quality cold weather sleeping bags, essential winter gear like gloves, hats, socks, socks, socks and more socks. And care packs for ladies, including size specific underwear. 

 

And we always slip a few 'fairy' items in amongst the practical things to raise a smile and express our love...friendship bracelets, tiny ladybug stones etc. Feedback tells us these are often dearly treasured. 

 

This year our fundraiser will benefit Downtown Streets, Community Action Marin's CARE outreach team, Tay Space, St Vincent de Paul, The Ritter Center, The Interfaith Street Chaplaincy and Bloom among others.

 

$80 will cover the cost of a high quality sleeping bag and comprehensive winter care pack ( socks, gloves, hat, snacks etc). We have requests already for over 200 of these. And needed ASAP.

 

$100 will cover the above and help us prepare ladies underwear and personal hygiene packs.

 

All donations over $80 will receive a Good Fairy keychain. Donations over $100 will also receive a fairy themed craft made by our friends with developmental disabilities at The Cedars while stocks last. You can ask us to send these gifts to a nominated person to say a donation has been made in their name as a holiday gift.

 

Kids - we LOVE it when kids come up with creative ways to fundraise and collect could $80. Let us know what you are up to, perhaps you'd like some fairy wings to wear.

 

Good Fairy continues of course to collect second hand sleeping bags, tents, blankets, camping back packs which can be left at 41 West Oak Knoll, San Anselmo.
