Support Alice's Journey to Recovery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Dominique “Jelly” Williams, and I’m creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my mother, Alice Avery.
On Sunday, April 6, our lives changed forever. My mother suffered two massive strokes that affected both sides of her body. Since then, she’s undergone brain surgery to remove a blood clot, lost her vision, become paralyzed on the left side of her body, and now relies on a feeding tube. She remains hospitalized and will require extensive rehabilitation on her long road to recovery.
My mom is the heart of our family. She was just one month away from finishing nursing school (a dream she worked so hard for) before her strokes. Now, she is disabled and unable to work, which has placed a major financial strain on our household.
Her close friends have stepped up to help with bills, and my siblings and I are incredibly grateful for their support. However, the weight of this situation is more than they can carry alone. We’re now reaching out to others for help because we simply can’t do this on our own.
As the middle child, I’m doing my best to stay strong. I graduate from high school on May 29 and will be heading to college this fall, but I’m deeply concerned about the future and the stability of my mom, sister, and brother. We are truly in survival mode and need help just to get through each day, week, and month.
The money raised through this GoFundMe will help us with things like rent, food, bills, and basic everyday needs. It’s been really hard trying to keep everything together, and we just don’t have the money to make it through without help. My dad has been super supportive through all of this, and I’m really grateful for him and everything he’s done to hold us down while we figure things out.
If you can give anything at all, no matter the amount, it will make a huge difference for us. Please consider donating or sharing this page. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
