A Whole New World

God is always on the MOVE

Hello everyone. It’s Jamie and Charlie and many of you know us from many contexts and locations in this world and we’d like to share a little bit of our story.

As many of you know, I’m originally from the Philippines and have been in youth ministry since 2008. I moved to America as a missionary to Colorado, then Texas, then California.

I’m Charlie and I’m from the UK and as many of you know, I’ve been a missionary to the USA since 2010 in Texas and now serving in California. And another wonderful role I’m thankful for, is mom to Poppy and Olivia

Sadly, despite living here for a combined amount of 25 years and having Liv and Pop born here, our immigrant application (aka green card) has gotten denied and has put us in a position to have to leave the country with no real recourse to stay.

Fortunately, GOD IS ALWAYS ON THE MOVE. A church in the UK has offered Jamie a youth pastor role and I’m personally excited to be moving home to be closer to family.

We’re excited. But sadly, after much planning, our entire savings will be completely depleted as we take account every aspect of our move.

From visas fees to plane tickets, the moving of some of our belongings (including our fog Lucy) after selling much of them and the huge medical bills of Charlie and Poppy’s labor and delivery and the later visits to the hospital.

We believe God is and always has been on the move.

We believe He’s the one that could’ve moved heaven and earth to allow us to stay but also by His will and grace had called us to move to a whole new world!

We’re excited to reach and disciple young people in the SW of England, the same way He’s called us to students all over from Texas to Colorado to California. Though when we look on the ground, we see that it will be a struggle ahead financially, in addition to the pain and grief of of leaving the family we’ve rooted ourselves in here.

GOD is always on the move. And as we believe He’s moving us, could He be moving you to help send us? Would you prayerfully consider, if you believe God is orchestrating our move, if you sense the Lord moving in you to support us, would you consider contributing to our moving / mission fund?

The Bible tells us that as we pray to Him, he can deliver beyond what we can ever ask for and imagine. We believe He provides in ways we don’t expect, but also in ways He’s done numerous times in the past. We believe He’s called us to move.

Just as Elijah in the OT and Paul in the NT asked for the support of His people, and missionaries like George Muller and Jim Elliot in modern church history have seen the Lord provide through the generosity of His people, we believe this is one way He may provide.

If at most you can do is pray, please pray for us. For provision in this way, but also favor in every way as Jamie makes his continental transition to two widely different contexts of pastoral work, to my reintegration to my homeland. For Olivia and Poppy to adjust as well as they could.

We’re leaving warm weather and even warmer hearts in Orange County. We’ve always loved and will always love America. But we’re off to follow with new horizons to pursue.
