Standing with Us Through Our Daughter's Diagnosis
$220 raised of
As a parent, with type 1 it has always been a fear, for one of my children to get this awful disease. well For the past month, I have been out of work on fmla (unpaid) . As I was getting ready to go back Our 7-year-old daughter was hospitalized on January 28th and diagnosed with **type 1 diabetes**, turning our lives upside down. We’ve cried watching her brave painful pricks and injections, her grieving the carefree treats and snacks now replaced by constant planning or asking us!
We’ve overhauled our diet with costly specialty foods and low- carb snacks while facing endless appointments, classes, supplies, and mounting medical bills that have overwhelmed us.
We’re also saving for a **diabetic alert service dog**—a lifesaving companion to detect blood sugar changes before she feels them—costing **$12,000** out of pocket, far beyond what we can afford alone.
Yet our little girl is a warrior. She calls herself a “superhero who checks her sugar like a boss,” decorates her CGM with fancy patches and meets each day with fierce courage and bright smiles.
Your help would ease the financial burden, cover her care, and bring us closer to giving her the safety and independence a service dog could provide. Thank you for supporting our brave fighter.
