Hello - Hallo - Goeie dag,
my name is Lenn, and I'm currently volunteering at Vrede Rede Primary School in Swakopmund, Namibia. Over the past few months, I've gotten to know the students, their daily routines, and how much they enjoy being active, especially when it comes to sports.
Two sports stand out in particular: soccer and netball. They are incredibly popular here. Whenever there's a chance to play, the field immediately fills up. But right now, the right equipment is lacking. Goals are missing, nets are worn out or unavailable, and netball equipment is very limited. The children only have a large concrete surface to use as a sports field. Under these conditions, it's extremely difficult to offer structured or varied education.
At the same time, many students walk long distances to school every day. Others are driven, often simply because there's no way to securely store a bicycle at the school. Without proper bike racks, bicycles can easily be stolen, which is too risky for many families.
Therefore, I would like to raise money for three things:
- Bicycle racks,
- Soccer goals,
- Netball equipment.
Bicycle racks would give students the opportunity to get to school more safely and independently, without relying on their parents or taxis. Most importantly, they would ensure that bicycles can be parked securely, without fear of theft.
Proper soccer goals and netball equipment would not only allow students to play, but also teach them teamwork, discipline, and fair play. With the right equipment, more structured games and small tournaments could take place. It would give students a space where they can have fun and release energy, which would also help them concentrate better in class.
I would be very grateful for any support for this project. Every contribution brings us one step closer to making a real difference.
Thank you for your support.
Lenn
