Raising funds for Buigiri, Tanzania (Easter, 2025)
Donation protected
I will be returning to Buigiri in Tanzania for three weeks in April/May 2025. Buigiri has a significant population of blind individuals, and I will be bringing a large number of white canes, talking watches and other items to improve their lives. During my stay, I will support the people of Buigiri and the surrounding areas in various ways, including:
- Removing barriers to children's education
- Assisting the sick in obtaining medical care
- Providing building materials for house repairs
- Establishing small income-generating projects for families
Two of the main projects I hope to accomplish are:
- Providing a collective of four women with a cafe so they can work to support their families
- Supplying mattresses and bed sheets to the blind school.
I have spent 18 months in Tanzania across 10 visits. I work alongside the Tanzanian League of the Blind to ensure the help gets directed to the most deserving people.
I cover all my own costs, and anything raised here will form a war chest to fund the above. To give an indication of where money has been spent on previous trips, here is a break down of spending from 2017:
I have documented past trips at www.tomintanzania.com and I am starting up an Instagram: tomfeildingintanzania
