For Katy, With Love

When Katy was poorly, she told me she wanted to help children who didn’t have the same opportunities she did. She’d heard about orphanages and schools in places where life is incredibly hard, and her heart went straight out to those children.

I must admit that at the time, I didn’t know where to begin. It was on her bucket list, but after losing her, I focused on visiting the places she had dreamed of instead, which became a way of carrying her with me and honouring her spirit.

Now, 13 years on, an opportunity has come along that feels like it was meant to be. It’s a chance to finally make that part of Katy’s dream a reality.

As a family, we’ve already managed to raise enough to help one school, providing children with a safe place to learn and grow. But we would love to go further and raise enough to help a second school.

The incredible thing is, it doesn’t take a huge amount to change so many lives, and I only need to raise another £500.
