This journey has been unimaginably painful. His mother abducted him overseas, cut him off from me, then subjected him to neglect and abuse. He was wrongly detained in UK foster care despite being an American, then returned to his maternal family in Florida for 14 months who, predictably and tragically, proceeded to abuse him yet again.

Despite everything, I fought relentlessly in court to bring him home—draining every savings account, maxing out credit cards, and taking on loans to the tune of $80,000+ in legal fees.

Now, after years of separation, custody has been restored and my son is finally returning to where he always belonged—safe in his father’s care. But the healing journey has just begun...

He has endured levels of trauma that no child should ever face, further exacerbated by a family court system that for too long prolonged his suffering. He will need consistent therapy, stability, and time with me—his dad—to rebuild trust, security, and joy in life. That means therapy bills, clothes, food, and everyday care expenses, plus time off work so I can be fully present in his recovery.
