5 Years on from Covid exhibition.

Hi my name is Wendy Aiken and I'm a photographer.

When the UK went into lockdown in March 2020, like many business owners reliant on face to face interaction, I went from a full appointment book to nothing overnight.

A number of people suggested that I considered offering doorstep photos, so in May 2020 I began taking bookings for photos for a small charity donation of £5. The concept proved very popular and kept me busy for almost 2 months, mainly in Eye and and surrounding villages.

An impressive £2,042 was raised from the photos which I split equally between two important Eye based charities: Eye Opportunity Group and Families Together Suffolk both of which support families with young children.

The unexpected additional result of this idea is that we have also captured a little piece of Eye history together.

This March we will be 5 years on from the Covid 19 pandemic and the first UK lockdown. To mark this important milestone I am planning an exhibition of the doorstep photos and images that I photographed in Eye.

The exhibition would run from the 5th to the 29th March 2025 at The Bank Arts Centre in Eye. The professionally framed photographs would be for sale and all the proceeds divided between The Bank Arts Centre, Eye Opportunity Group and Families Together Suffolk.

In order for the exhibition to go ahead, it would require sponsorship and as an important local business I wondered if you might be in a position to help? We hope to have a white dove released in memory of those we have lost since 2020.

This exhibition is for the people of Eye and surrounding areas, celebrating the sense of community and capturing how our lives have changed in the last 5 years.

I would be incredibly grateful for any sponsorship you could offer.

The money will pay for the framing of the photos.

Each frame costs £20 to professionally frame by local framer.

There are 157 prints to be framed in total, I need to raise £3,140.00

A memorial wall has already been sponsored and we hope to have a dove release.
