5 Mini Ramps in 5 Cities: Skateboarding for Everyone in Peru

Donación protegida
My name is Tamara and together with Jhikson Akamine we are raising money to build skateparks in Peru.

This project aims to build five mini ramps in five varying cities in Peru to decentralize skateboarding in the country. The goal is to bringing infrastructure and opportunity to cities that have long been overlooked in terms of access to sports and community development. The project is about more than just ramps. It’s about empowering local youth through construction workshops, promoting teamwork, and creating safe, inclusive spaces where skateboarding becomes a tool for growth, confidence, and community building. We believe that skateboarding can be a powerful engine for positive change—reaching the farthest corners of Peru and planting the positive seeds of skateboarding culture along the way.
Initiator of the project is Jhikson Akamine, a young skater from Trujillo, La Libertad. With the help of Concrete Jungle Foundation (CJF) and New Line Skateparks he could already realize two of the five mini ramps:

In March 2024, the first miniramp was built in Canoas de Punta Sal with the support of Cancas Skate, a local group that participated in the construction workshops and offers free classes for children.

In July 2024, the second mini-ramp was built in Buenos Aires Sur, Trujillo as part of an educational mission focused on girls' empowerment.

We are collecting funds for the three mini ramps that are planned for the following three locations:

San Vicente, Bolívar: A rural village located between the Peruvian jungle and highlands. This project is part of our mission to decentralize skateboarding in the country and bring it to communities that previously had no access to such facilities.

Huanchaco, Trujillo: A coastal town in northern Peru. Our goal is to promote the integration of surfing and skateboarding, creating a space where children from the community can explore both sports as tools for personal and collective development.

Oxapampa, Pasco: A town located in the heart of Peru’s central jungle. Together with a group of local youth, we aim to promote skateboarding as a form of expression, inclusion, and growth in the region.

Help us with this initiative that promotes skateboarding as a tool for social inclusion in rural communities in Peru and support the construction of these mini ramps with a donation!
