Hi everyone,
My name is Sean K. and I currently live in Washington, D.C. I'm interested in helping out families in the community who have been financially impacted by the global pandemic.
I’ve made personal connections with some of these families in my community and instead of making a general donation to a local charity, I wanted to provide support to 5 specific families, so that I can ensure that 100% of funds collected go directly to them. I would love for you to join me and lend a hand in any way you can.
1. Purpose: offer relief funding to 5 low-income families to cover basic living expenses and provide a sense of short-term financial stability.
2. Monetary goal: $6,000 ($1,200 x 5 families).
If we surpass the initial amount, the remaining funds will be allocated towards a 6th family and so on. 100% of funds raised will be donated to the families. No funds will be used to cover administrative or personal expenses.
ALL DONATION AMOUNTS ARE WELCOME! $10 minimum donations are suggested.
3. Why? This is an especially uncertain time for families who were already living paycheck-to-paycheck prior to the pandemic. Now, they are in an even tougher position assuming the loss of work. As you know, many workers in the accommodation and food services industries have been recently laid off.
While government stimulus checks are being distributed to those who meet specified criteria, these funds are not enough to make ends meet for lower-income families. Families are choosing between paying for groceries, rent, or critical medicine.
4. Which families? With the help of my network and (specifically) a friend who lives and works in my building, we have identified five families who are in need of donations.
5. Accountability: It's in these families best interest to keep their anonymity, but I will do my best to gather testimonials from those we're donating to. In regards to tracking the flow of funds, I'll be posting screenshots of checks and bank statements to display an audit trail.
Willing to answer any questions and provide receipts to anyone who is looking for further support. If this fundraiser goes well, I'd like to start a full-time charity that supports families in the area in a similar way.
6. Finally: LET ME KNOW if you're interested in working together! There's no better time to utilize our social networks than now. Spreading the message is free. THANK YOU in advance for passing blessings along to those in need!!!!!!
Best,
Sean
