New Year...New Team...One Dream
Erik's Way emerged as a way to honor my husband's memory and his two year battle with undifferentiated sarcoma while supporting the mission of Walk With Sally. Throughout my cancer journey as the caregiver and a mom to two young children and still working full-time, I was often overwhelmed, scared, and hopeless. Walk With Sally gave me the hope and support when I needed it the most by providing my children with a mentor. Without them, I don't know if I would have been able to continue. To know that my children had someone they could talk to and spend time with and just do "normal" things with meant the world to me.
It is now a little over a year since my husband's passing and it is my time to give back and inspire and support the cancer community. Working in collaboration with Walk With Sally, Erik's Way is here to provide additional hope and support to children and families affected by the trauma of cancer by meeting them where they're at (the idea that we will come to you in order to make life just a little bit easier during this time). By incorporating opportunities for sharing my passion for literacy, baking, and our love of football with children and families, as well as recognizing the caregiver for all they do, I believe that Erik's Way can be a resource for families experiencing the impact of cancer.
