Fundraising for Heart Warrior Ryleigh
Donation protected
Hi my name is Amanda. My family is fundraising to help our beautiful friends Shannon and Ash, and their precious 20 month old daughter Ryleigh as she embarks on her 4th heart operation on 23 May 2022.
Ryleigh is the 1 in 100 born with congenital heart disease. She was born with a disconnected right pulmonary artery. Her heart was literally missing a piece of the pipe work and could not pump properly without life saving treatment.
Ryleigh spent the first 6 weeks of her life at Westmead Children’s Hospital, followed by 4 weeks at The Canberra Hospital. Life is full of countless tests, appointments and procedures plus a lot of worry for their little girl. It’s also filled with lots of proud and happy moments and to their credit, no matter what they face, I see them do it with strength, courage and determination to give Ryleigh the very best.
This is a family who are first to support and help others, no matter what they are going through! They have personally been a huge support of ours and we are lucky that Micah will grow up calling Ryleigh his friend.
There is no cure for congenital heart disease. The journey for Ryleigh has not been easy and the road ahead is long and uncertain.
Please help us take some of the financial pressure off this beautiful family as they begin another long stay at Westmead Children’s hospital for Ryleigh’s second Open Heart Surgery.
They have not asked for this to be done, but they are without a doubt so deserving of a little help and to know that they are supported. Anything we can donate will ease the burden of the many bills and expenses that won’t stop while Ryleigh is in hospital, so they can focus on her recovery without that additional worry.
To learn more about Ryleigh’s story, please like and have a read of Shannon’s blog “Matters of the Heart” which can be found on Facebook.
