4x4x48 For Isaiah 117 House

Michael Head  will be running 4miles every 4hours for 48hour starting 8pm on March 18. 

Each mile will also be a time that people can pray for certain things while I’m running. This will be announced before each run. 

Looking to challenge myself mentally and at the same time to help raise awareness for the Isaiah 117 house.  

As it stands now without an Isaiah 117 House when children must be removed from their home due to no fault of their own they go to the Department of Children’s Services. This is where they wait for hours and for teens sometimes days for foster placement. What if there was a home where children could go when they are removed from their home? What if there was a safe place with friendly, loving volunteers? What if there was an environment with clean clothes, bath toys, healthy snacks, comfy beds and toys? What if instead of cubicles, the traumatized child could see smiles, books, and snuggly blankets?
This is the dream for the Isaiah 117 House. Isaiah 1:17 says, "defend the cause of the fatherless." God is calling us to show these children they are loved. A home with a girl’s bedroom, a boy’s bedroom, fully stocked bathroom, playroom, nursery, etc. A team of volunteers, 2 at a time, on call to greet "the least of these" when they need love most. A place always ready to take in the children of this region in their time of need and help with what is inevitably a traumatic transition. This home has the potential to positively affect the children who are coming into custody in ways far beyond what we could ever imagine as well as support the foster families and support the DCS staff of this region.
