My name is Hassan Al-Ashi, a 26-year-old from Gaza City. As the sole child of my devoted parents, I carry their dreams and aspirations. My journey led me to pursue accounting studies at Al-Azhar University, where I successfully graduated two years ago.

Before the war disrupted our lives, I had the privilege of realizing a cherished dream—I opened a cosmetics shop. The allure of the beauty industry captivated me, and my little shop became a reality. With the unwavering support of my parents, we invested the majority of our savings into this venture.

However, fate dealt a cruel blow. The war ravaged our beloved shop, leaving it in ruins. I couldn’t even bid farewell to the place that held my hopes and aspirations. But the devastation didn’t stop there. We were forced to flee our home in northern Gaza, seeking refuge in Deir al-Balah, a small, inhospitable place by the seashore. Our situation is dire—lacking water, food, electricity, and basic amenities. The cold bites, and dangerous indiscriminate bombing lurks around every corner.
