A heart for Randy…
Virtual fundraiser for the Randy & Jill Koep Family
Randy is a proud graduate of the Brandon High School class of 1985 and a lifelong resident of Millerville, MN. An all-around great guy that has a great family history and legions of friends. He and his bride Jill are also raising two grandchildren; Wyatt 10 and Riley 11. About 10 years ago Randy contracted a rare virus and the unforeseen complications are now showing that his heart is not strong enough to sustain him. He has had both a pacemaker and defibrillator implanted; but these efforts are falling short. He needs a new heart. The next step for the family will be to have a surgery that will place an LVAD (left ventricular assist device) into his chest cavity in the next month or so. This device will assist in pumping the necessary blood to his organs while he waits for a donor heart. The vetting process to have one of these devices implanted is extensive and he has passed these protocols! Funds raised here will go directly to the family to help cover medical costs and living expenses as Randy will have to live in close proximity to the U of M Hospital in Minneapolis to both monitor his LVAD and await his new heart. Please consider donating anything you can to this family.
