In June 2014, Travis and Avery married after a multi-decade friendship and off-and-on again courtship. A true love story, reconnecting and marrying Travis was Avery's dream come true.

In February 2015, little Astrid was born, likely consummated on their honeymoon. Seems perfect, right?

Travis had struggles. Avery never realized the severity of his struggles until it was too late. On Friday, August 7, 2015, Travis lost his battle with severe alcoholism. He left Avery, Suki and Astrid in a bad position with debt, legal issues and the loss of their patriarch. Avery lost the love of her life. Astrid will never know her daddy.
