We need your help to get our Fresh Routes truck back on the road! “Peary,” our truck, is in the shop and needs some major repairs. Our route operators use Peary to bring fresh and affordable food into the community, but because of the repairs that are needed, it’s not safe to have Peary on the roads. All the money raised by this campaign will go towards the repairs on the truck—the sooner we raise the money, the sooner we can get Peary back on the road!
Peary is our only Mobile Grocery Store (MGS) vehicle in Edmonton, and because it’s been waiting in the shop eager to get back on the road, we’ve had to loan out a van in the meantime. Peary needs a complete transmission replacement as well as a lot of general maintenance before it can be back on the road. Our MGS vehicles are essential to the work we do.
Our MGS vehicles allow us to make some serious impact in our communities:

Our team brings the MGS to communities in Edmonton that face barriers to accessing food and the need for the MGS is heightened by COVID-19 and the cold weather. Without Peary on the road, we are limited in our ability to bring great food to the people who need it. We are working hard to expand into more communities, but we need Peary to be able to do this.
We stand by our tagline “good food stops for you” which is why we’ve been paying to use a different, smaller vehicle in the meantime. With your support, we can get Peary back on the road and continue serving our community.
