Our IVF Story

Hi, Our names are Demi and Jayd.
In February of 2022 we decided that it was time to start our family, so we made the initial call to our doctors.
After a very long one year wait list and multiple tests, we finally had our first appointment with a fertility clinic!
Little did we know, the process wasn't straight forward and was going to take us much longer than we thought and had hoped..
In June of 2023, After endless injections, medication and an egg retrieval, we finally had our first embryo transfer and were very hopeful that this would give us the baby that we were hoping for.
With IVF you are classed as Pupo which means that you are "Pregnant until proven otherwise" as you have a viable embryo in your uterus.
All of the early symptoms and signs of pregnancy present themselves at this stage, often this tricks you into allowing yourself to believe that this will be a viable pregnancy.
Unfortunately 2 weeks later Demi experienced some heavy bleeding, we had been in contact with our clinic and were devastated to find out that after all of the physical and emotional strain, the IVF transfer had not worked and we had lost the pregnancy.
With 2 remaining embryos in the freezer, we tried to be hopeful whilst grieving the loss of what would've been our first baby.
Frozen transfers have a higher success rate so we were hopeful as we headed into the next round, this wouldn't be before a two month wait as we allowed Demi's body time to heal and rest.
With IVF its not a case of jumping straight back into things, you need to allow time for your body to emotionally and physically recover.
Our one year wait had been extended even more.
September 2023 came around and after pulling together a staggering £3,500 we were able to have another embryo transferred.
The two week wait was very hard as Demi was very unwell and physically drained, all whilst working long hours and keeping this all a secret from loved ones.
Official Test day came around and we were ecstatic to see the words "Pregnant" shown on the test, we couldn't believe that it was finally our time!
A few weeks passed and around 6.5 weeks into the pregnancy, Demi began to experience very heavy bleeding which was a very big concern. After speaking to our fertility team, we were told that all she could do was rest and wait for the 7 week viability scan.
7 week Scan
Our nightmare was confirmed when the fertility nurse made us aware that Demi was in fact having a miscarriage and that there were no longer signs of a baby nor a heartbeat.
Devastated and heart broken doesn't come close to how we felt, with all of this emotional stress we now had to somehow find another £3,500 to try with our last embryo.
Our clinic had advised that we wait 3 months until we attempted another cycle, This turned into 6 months as we had a cancelled cycle in January 2024.
April 2024 rolled around and we were able to transfer our 3rd and final embryo, we put all of our hopes into this being our chance to become Mum's.
Following 8 Positive pregnancy tests, we were ecstatic again and beyond relieved that this had finally worked after a complete emotional rollercoaster!
However, 2 days after we had taken another test and the dreaded "Not Pregnant" was shown on the screen.... Another loss.
We are emotionally and physically exhausted, and after almost 2 years we have no remaining embryo's and are back at square 1.
This brings us to now.
Deciding to create a GoFundMe has not been an easy decision, however we have decided to lean on those around us and ask for support.
Very few of our loved ones know of our journey and have given us the most loving and caring support possible and we cannot be more thankful.
We would be beyond grateful to any donations, no matter how big or small.
We would like to thank everyone in advance who is able to in just supporting us and helping us on our journey to become Mum's.
Hopefully in the near future, we will be able to share some wonderful baby news.
Thank you again.
All of our love,
Demi and Jayd x
