Bring Izzy Home

Spende geschützt
Back in the Spring of 2017 I discovered that I was pregnant with my 3rd baby.  I was extremely excited because I  thought that I could finally have a boy as I already have 2 girls at home! Twelve weeks into my pregnancy I started to have complications. I woke up one morning feeling the sensation of my water breaking, but I was only 3 months pregnant so I knew something was wrong. I was bleeding and cramping a lot and I had no idea why. I went to the hospital where they told me it was a possibility that I was having a miscarriage but there was nothing they could do because I was in the early stages of my pregnancy.  Ultrasounds revealed that the baby was doing OK and the heart beat was strong so they sent me home. A couple of weeks later at around 16 weeks I woke up to a puddle of pink liquid in my bed and the cramps began again. I stood up to try and go to the bathroom where the blood began to run down my legs. I was terrified and ended up going back to the hospital. Again they told me I might be having a miscarriage but there was nothing they could do.  Several ultrasounds later the baby is still continuing to grow, but nobody could explain to me why the bleeding and cramping continued. In the end they sent me home again. I tried to continue to go about my daily life as normal. I had just started my brand new full time job at the happiest place on earth and of course my 2 girls were at home relying on me. I even had a gender reveal party where I found out I was have yet another girl!  Around  22 weeks gestation I had another episode of bleeding and went back to the hospital. At this point they admitted me because I had gone far along enough in my pregnancy.  During my stay at the hospital they ran several tests and  ultrasounds including an intrauterine ultrasound.  All of the doctors continue to tell me that my baby was doing just fine and that the bleeding could be caused by a  hematoma that was in my uterus.  I've never experienced anything like this before! My other two pregnancies I made it to 42 weeks gestation, and I had no complcations so I had no idea what to do or think. All I knew is that I was scared and I wanted my baby to be OK! After spending 2 to 3 days in the hospital they finally let me go home because my bleeding subsided and babys heart rate was strong. The next week I went to my OBGYN and she told me that I  needed to go to a different hospital to have a cerclage done. The following week after that I was admitted to Tampa General Hospital where they were supposed to perform this common closure of my cervix but they found that I no longer had any amniotic fluid left around my baby. At this point I made it to 24 weeks and my daughter's heart rate was in distress. The hospital had no choice but to perform  an emergency cesarean and on September 6th 2017  I gave birth to my super preemie Izabella Jade Soto (Izzy). She weighed in at 416 g and was immediately intubated and placed in the NICU. I remember going home crying every day when I couldn't bring my baby home because I knew that she was all alone in a scary hospital hooked up to machines and she only had the warmth of the incubator instead of being in my arms. I pumped my milk for her so that she could at least receive mommy's nutrition. There were times that Izzy's health took a turn for the worse but she continued to fight as we held tight to every fiber of hope that she would be ok. And sure enough shortly after her 1st birthday in Tampa Generals NICU/ PICU she was finally healthy and stable enough to be transferred to a nursing facility here in Florida. Now Izabella is a healthy 1 and a 1/2 year old! She is still currently on a trach/ventillator and she has a G-Tube  for feeds. She's been in this nursing facility since October of 2018 and since then I've been making moves to bring her home including moving to our new apartment. Being that Izzy is my 1st child in this type of situation I had no idea what to expect or what was expected of me. My apartment complex is 0.7 miles from the nearest hospital and 0.2 miles from the fire station,  so in my search for places to live I believed this to be the safest place for my daughter just in case of emergencies. Now that we have moved in, signed the lease, and settled down I was able to finish CPR certification and my training in preparation to bring her home. The nursing facility  Izzy resides at refuses to Discharge her due to the fact that I live on the 3rd floor. During my search for homes no one ever told me that I could not live on the 3rd floor with my child in this situation. Even though I informed them I was moving Months in advance and needed to find a place by March. This situation has become another heartache and hurdle that I am not prepared for. Mentally or financially. I went back to my leasing office to see if there was a possibility of moving to a first floor unit, as we have only been at this unit for 5 weeks and this is the only way I can bring my child home for the first time ever and before her 2nd birthday! At first they told me I would have to break my current lease and pay a $3000 fee to move, but after some correspondance with the corporate leasing office they have agreed to let us move. I have to pay a new security deposit for the new unit and pay the prorated rent for May. I'm hoping that I can get enough support to be able to finally bring my baby girl home. Her sisters are anxiously waiting to have her home and this is my only option. Anything helps and I want to Thank Everyone in advance for all your prayers and generosity!
