Help My Family Rebuild After Hurricane Melissa

Hi everyone,

My name is Gregory Parkin, and I’m organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my father, Sygmond, my aunt Tessa, and my sister Latty.

Our family has always been rooted in love, strength, and community. We come from a line of hardworking, humble, and faith-driven people who have always stood by one another through every challenge.

Unfortunately, after the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa, my family has suffered tremendous loss. Many of our loved ones lost their homes, and the roof to the house I grew up in was destroyed. Communication has been difficult — many are still without power or internet — but we’re doing everything we can to stay connected and begin rebuilding.

I’m deeply grateful to everyone who’s reached out with prayers, concern, and offers of help. This GoFundMe is one way I can make a difference and provide direct support to my family during this difficult time.

For anyone located in Ohio, my aunt Tina is also preparing a couple of barrels to ship in January with supplies for the family. We would be deeply grateful for donations of essential items such as:

Batteries and flashlights

Solar-powered lamps or lighting

Non-perishable foods like rice, canned goods, pasta, and cooking oil

Hygiene products (soap, toothpaste, deodorant, feminine items)

First aid supplies and over-the-counter medicines

Light clothing or blankets
