Gabby’s Kitchen

Gabrielle Iliana started Gabby’s kitchen October ,2017. When Gabby and I had a conversation about what she wanted for her birthday her words were “mommy I want to start a business that will help people.” Gabby has had a heart for cooking since she was a toddler she loved food eating and cooking it. Her love developed even more when princess Tiana came out and she owned her own restaurant it sparked something in her mind that hey I can do this too. Fast forwarding to November she started buying supplies to feed the homeless and we had a conversation about how our community helpers don’t get to go home like firefighters and police officers some doctors and nurses. She seemed so puzzled because she in her mind thought everyone had the chance to be with family for the holidays, but I explained to her that some people can’t do that because they had to make sure that we stayed safe while we were with our families and if we needed help they could be there to help us. After this conversation Gabby said well mommy can we feed the fire fighters I want to make thanksgiving dinner for them and we can be their family. And so my adventure to helping Gabby’s dream come true begin, we spoke with Mr.Miach lemon who was the key player to helping Gabrielle come closer to her dream he ran her idea to the fire chief and staff and it was approved for her to prepare a meal and come in to feed the fire station 11 in Stone Mountain. Little did we know this was only the beginning of her venture Gabby started saving her money to buy food and decor to make the holiday feel like a holiday so I made several post on Facebook and one of my friends Yashi Youmans made a post that sparked others to invest in her dreams people have been flooding my inbox with donations and help with food preparation to not only feed fire station 11 but make sure when Christmas comes we will be able to feed multiple stations! The love Gabby has been receiving has made her smile and cry all at once I never once saw my 9 year old daughter making such a big difference at such a young age. Gabby’s kitchen plans to stay open not only for the holidays but throughout the years to come. This is only the beginning for her and I she’s excited as am I. We’re hoping to get her story out to get more support from our community the goal is to band and bridge the cap that has been lost for many years it takes a village to raise the people and it takes love to break fear and bring people together.
