I am here asking on behalf of our neighbor friend, Jahmar Simpson, to help in this time of need.
This past weekend I received a phone call I thought I would never hear, "Jahmar's in trouble".
Sunday evening (Nov 11) he was arrested on multiple charges as he fit the description of the assailant, just by walking down the same street of the crime. A 200'lb, African American male with a grey hoodie and black shoes. He was sitting in a bar drinking/chatting while this crime was taking place outside, camera footage and eyewitnesses place him inside as evidence. When he was approached and arrested, the police did not investigate or ask to speak with anyone inside the bar willing to prove his innocence.
This is unjust behavior.
He has no criminal background and is a local business owner.
After waiting days in jail (one of those days was a holiday), he was finally released on the conditions of "house arrest" or wearing a GPS locator. He is unable to leave to walk his dog, go to the grocery store or go to work. December 20th is the preliminary court hearing where he will be able to prove his innocence and fight, they will not discuss anything outside of court.
During this time I'm asking for small donations to help with everyday purchases and expenses for our friend. He will have to fight this in court and will require a defense lawyer.
