Play in peace

About 3 weeks ago I came up with an idea to organise a day out for the Ukrainian refugee children and their mothers. I roped my 5 year old son in to run a 2km junior park run to get sponsorship to fund the event, which I named Play In Peace.

I was blown away by the generosity of friends and family and the willingness of local businesses to get involved.

Since then we have run two days out with the help of a group of amazing volunteers made up of friends and strangers who all wanted to help. We have another outing planned tomorrow, a forth on Monday and plenty more in the pipeline.

While businesses are generously giving us the use of their premises for free or at a significant discount, the cost of transport is substantial, given the interest in the events and the fact that the families are spread across a number of different hotels in Dublin.

I know most people have already donated to the Ukrainian cause in one way or another, but if you are in a position to contribute in any way we would be very grateful.

Hi,

I am organising a day out on Tuesday for the Ukrainian refugee kids and their mother's to the play centre in Drogheda and hopefully mcdonalds afterwards.

The playcentre are doing it for free and the bus is only charging for the diesel which is really decent of them.

Anyway to cover the costs my 5 year old son Tristan is doing the 2km junior park run on Sunday and is looking for sponsorship. Any little helps x
