Hello, My name is Emily Perzan. I have been an active member at ARC for over two and half years. I have been assisting with ITR classes, doing on the water coaching from the cox seat, and recently doing assistant coach style work with the Novice Sweep Clinic on Monday nights. I am an energetic and passionate rower as well as a compassionate teacher. I have taught other sport for years and have the ability and confidence to connect with my rowers in a way that shows the development of skills over time. With use of analogies, understanding different learning styles, and a great work ethic I know I would make a great rowing coach. I am so grateful for every moment I have had assisting others with their rowing, and watching them grow! I am not just a great communicator but also a compassionate listener.
My Goal:
I want to go to US Rowing Conference in Seattle Washington, December 5-8, 2013 to Get my Level one Coaching Certification as well as Advanced Coaching Certification. I want to be the positive reflection and show the country what an amazing club ARC is at this conference. I want to come back from this conference and give all my training, knowledge and love for the sport to the rowers I coach. I have a highly competitive spirit and drive that will work hard to bring the skills I learn and have learned to the rowers at ARC. I know I would be a great addition to the coaching staff at ARC. My passion and drive will show through. Hopefully in the future I will be able to fulfill my dream of being a novice competitive teams coach and help novice and intermediate rowers go for gold! Going for gold with energy, team work, skills building, and team bonding over the sport we love!
I want to go to Seattle to learn and to represent for ARC. Please help me get there. You donations will help pay for Airfare, Hotel, conference fees.
I promise I will be the coach that you know I can be, and will put in 110% every time I'm on the water. I know how my coaches have influenced my life, and I want to share that will others. I encourage rowers to join and be part of a team, and I want to be the coach of that team that will find their rhythm and support the Strong positive community that is Austin Rowing Club!
