On Friday, July 25th, at around 6 AM, my husband, BK, was unexpectedly detained by ICE on his way to work. He is currently being held at Moshannon Valley Processing Center.

ICE stated that his detention stems from a case that happened over 30 years ago, when he was just a teenager. BK served his sentence fully and has lived the last two decades as a free, peaceful, and contributing member of our community. He’s kept up with all his immigration check-ins, worked hard to provide for our family, and lived with integrity and purpose every single day.

Now, despite turning his life around completely, ICE is still trying to deport him.

BK is not just my husband, he’s my rock. He’s the kind of man who makes people laugh even on their worst days, who gives without expecting anything in return, and who carries himself with warmth, humility, and love. He’s a devoted husband and dog dad, a loyal friend, supportive son, and a deeply caring human being.

His absence has left a hole in our lives that words can’t fully express.

We are now facing urgent legal fees to help us fight bring BK home.
