My name is Jamell “Mr. Taste Budz” Paxton, and I’ve spent years investing in my South Central Los Angeles community — not just through good food at Mr. Taste Budz, but by creating a safe space for our youth to learn, grow, and stay off the streets.

The Mr. Taste Budz World Rec Center was built from love, dedication, and a dream to give kids and families a place they can call home. A place where they can play ball, create art, learn new skills, and most importantly — feel safe.

But right now, our community center is in danger of being shut down.

We’ve been doing everything we can to keep the lights on — hosting events, fundraisers, and giving back every weekend — but the cost of equipment, maintenance, and community programs has grown beyond what we can handle alone.

I’m asking for your help to keep our doors open.

Every dollar will go toward keeping this space alive — for the kids who show up after school to stay out of trouble, for the single parents who just need a positive place for their children, and for the people who believe that change starts right here in our own neighborhood.

This center isn’t just a building.

It’s hope.

It’s unity.

It’s our community.
