Bring Them Home!
Donation protected
We are so fortunate to be able to adopt two teen brothers from Colombia! We are truly grateful to our family and dear friends who have helped us so far financially, to be able to pay most of our current fees to our adoption agency, our social work agency, for our medical review, and for our psychological evaluation. We have already raised over $30k of the anticipated $50-60k total cost.
Many of you have asked how you can help us in our life-changing endeavor, and up to now we have only been able to ask for prayer. We now are preparing to bring the boys home, so we have some specific needs and desires as we finish our preparations.
Internationally adopted children get to bring very little with them when they come to the U.S. for the first time. Most have a maximum of two suitcases, and some come with only the clothes on their backs and what is in their backpacks. We don't know exactly what our boys will bring with them.
We are asking for financial donations now so that when they arrive we can get them ready for school in the Fall, and provide them with all of the supplies and clothing they will need to be active, healthy, American teenagers. We are also looking for ways to assist their sisters V (17) and S (19) when we go soon, who will remain in Colombia.
Here are some things we would like to use your donations for:
- school uniforms (shirts, pants, shorts)
- additional clothing (casual)
- dress clothing/shoes
- school supplies
- toiletries
- soccer cleats
- athletic supplies
- bicycles
- furnishings and decorations they choose for their bedrooms
- bedding (sheets, comforters, pillows)
- extra sets of towels (bath, hand, wash cloths, beach)
- possible corrective surgery for J
- vision care/glasses/contacts for D
- monthly sponsorship of V in Colombia as she continues her
education, with hopes of becoming a doctor/surgeon
- helping S in any way we can as she attends college studying
Mechanical Engineering, and working as a Math instructor
- possible visit together during Christmas holiday 2018
(us going there, or the sisters coming here)
- remaining and post-adoption fees, counseling, services, and
in-country expenses
We would be honored to have you come alongside us as we follow God's direction in our lives to reunite and provide for this family!
It's is amazing what God can do! Thank you for your prayers and support!
