As of now, we have raised a little over $8,000 across GoFundMe, Venmo, cash/checks. We have also had so many skilled individuals step up and offer to help put the house together. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

At the end of 2024, my sweet parents decided to embark on a years-long dream of theirs to renovate their home to make space for their ever-growing family of new in-laws and grandbabies. They found a contractor through word of mouth of trusted friends and were eager for a beautiful, revamped home. The contractor told my mom he “promised she would cry” when he was finished.

Fast forward several months later and said contractor took advantage of them. He stole their money under the guise of “paying upfront to get a discount” and wrecked their home. Unfortunately, they are only one of multiple victims.

In the aftermath, they are now left with a demo’d home, no furniture (minus a single

mattress and a kitchen table), and very little money in the bank to try to reclaim a space to call their own.

My parents have been such an integral part of their communities over the years. From Muncie to Noblesville and now back to the Yorktown/Muncie area, my parents have truly exemplified what it means to be followers of Christ—they have loved the vulnerable, fed the hungry, wept with the brokenhearted, and so much more. In fact, when it came to light that said contractor had stolen from them and lied about renovating their home, their first response was to ask if he knew Jesus and offer to share the good news and hope found in Jesus.

I am asking for funds to at least put their home back together. Maybe, just maybe, we can even raise enough to add on that extension. If my parents have ever blessed you or your family, I would ask if you would please consider contributing. Alternatively, if you have supplies or skills that you willing to donate that would also be great! Please also share this with your circles!
