Dear family, friends and friends to be,
My name is Vanessa Essed and my home is beautiful St.Maarten. Like so many others, we too had to endure the destructive natural forces of hurricane Irma on September 6th. We are so blessed and fortunate that all our loved ones came out of it alive but our precious island is destroyed on a personal and business level.
7 years ago I decided to start my own business with Flip Flop Shops and found two of the greatest people I now know to work for me and stand by me through thick and thin. Hurricane Irma has damaged our shop considerably and it will take a lot of hard work, sweat and tears to get back on our feet.
We are ready to put in the work but with no kind of income at this point or insurance payout, it makes it close to impossible.
We therefore humbly ask for your financial support which will help us rebuild this great shop with great people on our beautiful island of St.Maarten. As my brother put it, ' Irma knocked us down and gave us a serious beating but she could never knock us out!' Thanking you in advance Vanessa Essed
