Toby, is a National Escalator Specialist for a major Vertical Transportation company.

Though Toby is the national escalator guy, he is based out of San Francisco and lives in Houston (Katy), TX. He's a very proud Texan and, as I've seen first hand, truly has that southern hospitality that is so well known to those in the south. People tend to gravitate towards him. I know I did. I've learned a ton about the industry through him and he's my right hand man here in The Bay Area.

I'm sure you've heard of the storms that went through the Houston area about a month ago. At that time, Toby's house was completely flooded. His family needed to be rescued out of his home by a rescue team.

Toby didn't have flood insurance and almost everything was lost. The assessment was that there was about $40K in damage. He informed me that FEMA was able to subsidize some of it but definitely not all of it.

For the past month, the remodeling efforts continued. However, just this past Memorial Day weekend, more storms had come through the Houston area and, unbelievably, his house flooded again. Toby sent me a picture of this which is what I attached.

He can't even get to his house right now but initial reports are that all that work that was done once again has been for not. I know that he's going through an extraordinary amount of stress right now and I know that prayers and support would lift him and his family's spirits.

Anyway, let me preface this by saying to please, please, do not feel obligated to do anything. I know that anything would help but Toby's too proud to ask. I know it's cliche to say this, but if this happened to any of us, I'm sure we'd all appreciate the help.
