Reclaim Baseball in Baltimore City!
Tax deductible
Urgent- we require $8,000 of operating capital to take our programing through December! Our new facility is coming on-line soon! Although we have funding for the new youth center, we still do not have general operating funds for BUBA as an organization. We are still operating on "fumes" and through 100% volunteerism.
I'm coming to you for your support to help to transform our small, grassroots non-profit into a a first class, sustainable organization. Baltimore Urban Baseball Association's (BUBA) objective is to enhance the quality of life for at-risk Baltimore City youth and young adults by teaching, coaching, mentoring and educating through baseball/softball as a means to supplement education obtained in local schools. Our mission - rejuvenate the game of baseball and softball in Baltimore City while cultivating cultural diversity and youth development in all aspects of the game. BUBA started with only one coach and two kids in 2016 and now serves 325 city youth through a network of 30 volunteers, mostly ex-college and pro baseball players. All programs align by working with youth and young adults, parents, coaches and teachers and aim to foster an environment learning skills, building character, and empowerment - including tools and resources for college advancement. BUBA creates a positive culture among youth, families and volunteers where we all have fun, focus on our craft and become better individuals in our family and community. We will make Baltimore not just a safer place, but contribute to its future resurgence.
We recently secured funding for a FREE Youth Baseball/Softball Skills Center for Baltimore City. It will be open daily after school and provide open access for training, baseball/softball skill classes, and academic tutoring. It would be a safe place for our youth to go, their home away from home. This facility would serve as a national model to reclaim youth baseball in urban cities across America. The facility would also be open and free to use by all coaches and instructors in Baltimore City. This has never been done before and it will make history.
