Hi everyone, this is all new to me.

I'm fund-raising on behalf of a very special woman, Karmen.

We've been friends since school and she's always looked out for me, Karmen is one of the most generous giving people I know and now she needs help.

She is always putting others first constantly.

But back in September she had major back surgery, putting her off her feet for months.

Then come March she was told she needed a hysterectomy after cancerous cells where found on her cervix, but because she isnt covered by private health this surgery cost her $12500, unfortunately it was a surgery she absolutely needed so skipping it wasn't an option.

Today Karmen is back in hospital on day 5, after her back has gone again and is looking at another spinal surgery.

She is unable to walk, and her bladder and bowel have been affected, this isn't just about money although it's a big part of it - she needs the stress free time to heal properly as Karmen is a single mum of 3 gorgeous kiddos. She works hard and has always been a career women, unfortunately she has been between jobs since her hysterectomy when her company let her go.

She is now struggling to cover mortgage costs and with her future unseeable at the moment, every single cent helps with food on the table, roof over head, kids getting to school.
