Help Support Ben Sklaver's Clean Water Legacy
Tax deductible
Dear Friends, Family, and Colleagues:
It's hard to believe but it's now been over seven years since ClearWater Initiative formally merged with the International Lifeline Fund and our respective water programs were integrated into what is now known as Lifeline's "ClearWater Initiative." Together, under the Lifeline name, the combination of the organizations has dramatically increased access to clean water throughout Northern Uganda. In continued support of our collective efforts, I am back to run our 14th Army Ten-Miler in Washington, DC! All funds raised will support Lifeline's sustainable clean water projects. My personal goal is to raise a total of $10,000 but, to do so, I need your help. Any amount is appreciated.
As with previous years, many of the dedicated runners on this year’s team will run in honor of the ClearWater Initiative’s founder and my dear friend, the late U.S. Army Captain Benjamin Sklaver. This October will mark the 14-year anniversary of Ben’s death while serving in Afghanistan. This year is especially impactful in light of marking the one year anniversary of our withdrawal from the region.
Today, Ben’s mission and vision lives on through Lifeline. Since 2006, Lifeline has provided clean water access to over 300,000 people in Northern Uganda who suffered a two decade long civil war that had uprooted 1.7 million people from their homes. Since that time, Lifeline has constructed and/or rehabilitated more than 500 fresh water-wells, making it the largest supplier of clean water in all of Northern Uganda at a cost of just over $25 per person.
I am proud to honor Ben’s legacy and hopeful to have even greater impact through your help. A successful campaign will enable Lifeline to continue Ben’s inspiring vision of providing clean water to those in the direst of circumstances. Your donation enables the organization to positively impact the lives of countless more individuals in need. Give $25 and be a Founding Donor!
Best wishes,
Brett
