Kev is a community leader in South Philadelphia, co-founding the Homie Helping Homies Point Breeze community mutual aid which has been helping feed Point Breeze families for over 2 years & counting. On Sunday 5/1/22 he was stabbed in a senseless act of violence where he nearly lost his life. He was rushed to the hospital where he collapsed from blood loss & needed immediate surgery to stop the internal bleeding from lacerations to his diaphragm, lung, kidney & liver. He is currently in the ICU recovering from surgery but has been advised the road to recovery will be long & filled with physical therapy, medical equipment installation in his home, & limited mobility, all while his discharge date from the hospital is still uncertain at the moment. Kev quit his job 2 years ago to start HHH, he has been living off unemployment & his savings to ensure the community gets the aid it needs. Kev now needs the community’s help to make sure he can cover all his expenses during recovery - something we still aren’t sure the total cost or length of.
