In memory of Chaar Saahibzaadey, whose age was to play with toys, but instead gave the ultimate sacrifice by choosing to side with what was right. Standing against tyranny and oppression, we thought what better way to honor their legacy, by providing children of similar ages on hospital beds with what they never received.
Along with the countless Shaheeds, Shaheeda De Mukh Sevadaar Baba Kuldeep Singh Ji, my grandfather sacrificed his personal life for the betterment of everyone around him. He did selfless service for 36 years and passed away last year Christmas day.
His wish was to always give to those who receive as a necessity, and not a luxury. We partnered with New York-Presbyterian Komansky Children’s Hospital to donate toys to the children who will be spending this Christmas in the hospitals and not surrounded by their beloved families.
Along with this toy drive, there will also be a Homeless Winter Drive that will take place in East Harlem, Manhattan, which will consist of giving away packages filled with scarfs, gloves, socks, hand warmers, candy canes, and blankets to those who spend the brutal winter nights without a roof over their heads. Every penny given will go towards the purchasing of the toys and the materials for the homeless winter care packages.
