45000kg for Men’s Mental Health- Lifting the weight we carry
To raise money for men’s mental health, on June 1st 2025 I’ll be taking on a brutal gym challenge.
Every single contribution will go directly to ANDYSMANCLUB, a charity doing vital work to support men through the darkest times.
The challenge:
• 100kg Bench Press – 100 reps
• 100kg Squat – 150 reps
• 100kg Deadlift – 200 reps
That’s 45,000kg total — one day, no leaving the gym, no strict time limit. Just sheer willpower.
I chose these three lifts because to me, they each represent something powerful:
• Bench Press: The weight on our chest - the anxiety and pain we suppress.
• Squats: The unseen weight on our shoulders which we carry daily, and the strength it takes to keep rising.
• Deadlifts: The fight to lift yourself back up, over and over, no matter how heavy life gets.
Mental health has been a constant presence throughout my life. I’ve fought my own battles, and I’ve watched people I care about go through theirs.
Too many men are suffering in silence, hiding behind a false smile. Too embarrassed to open up and too afraid to feel weak.
I’m hoping this raises some awareness, sparks conversation, and to show that it’s okay not to be okay.
If you’re able to donate, thank you. It means the world.
If not, a share can go just as far in helping this message reach someone who needs it.
