As some of you may or may not know, I'm a survivor of domestic violence & stalking. Luckily, with the support of family, friends, and Safe Futures, I was able to get out before things got a lot worse. I have been healthy, happy, and safe now, for about three years now.
But, not everyone is a lucky as I am. So I want to give back, and help women who may not have the same support system that I did. Because 1 in 4 women is assaulted by an intimate partner every year, and 1 in 7 experiences stalking in their lifetime.
Recently, there have been two domestic related deaths local to my community. In my line of work, as a makeup artist, I meet tons of women who tell me their stories of being assaulted and victimized. Most people don't even realize how big of a problem this is, and how much these survivors need our help.
In 2020, I will be donating $5 of every makeup service, towards Safe Futures. I'm also making it my mission, on every Thursday, to raise awareness and share resources that can help someone in need.
Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit Safe Futures Inc, a domestic violence shelter located in New London, CT. Any donation will help make an impact!
Thank you, in advance, for your contribution to this cause. It really means so much to me, and it will to so many other women too.
