Deborah goes on Mercy Ships!

Some of you know that it's been my dream to volunteer as a nurse on the Africa Mercy since I was 9 years old. This dream is finally coming true on August 27th, and you can be a part of it! Mercy Ships is a wonderful organization that has hospital ships that dock at different ports for 10 months at a time to offer free, life-saving surgeries to the local community. In August they will start this service in Cameroon, Africa. I will morph into a med-surg nurse (always been an ER nurse) for 2 months, and do my part to help those that have just had their miracle surgeries. I won't be getting paid - I pay to go. So this is an expensive undertaking, but totally worth it to me. My 2 years of travel nursing have led up to this trip. I can't exactly ask off for 2 months from a normal job, so travel nursing has allowed me to plan trips through Nurses for Africa, and now, Mercy Ships.If you're curious about the organization, please look around on www.mercyships.org or send me a message.
