Help support my dads cancer battle
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Courtney, and I’m fundraising to support my incredible dad as he continues his battle with cancer.
Last year, my dad began experiencing worrying symptoms, including passing blood in his urine. He endured it quietly for as long as he could. He was stubborn and dismissed it until one night he was struck with sudden pain and couldn’t urinate this became so unbearable that he had to go to hospital, where he ended up staying for two weeks with constant blood clots in his urine and nurses flushing his bladder just to give him some relief.
After some tests, we received the heartbreaking news that he had bladder cancer. The cancerous lump was the size of an egg.
He bravely underwent surgery and began months of chemotherapy, pushing through pain, fatigue, and emotional lows but he always put on a brave face in front of us kids and his grandchild. There were days he could barely get out of bed, but he never stopped fighting. He has put in all his strength and effort however, we were recently told that two more cancerous lumps have now appeared in his bladder. This is even while he’s still undergoing treatment.
Watching someone you love go through this is heartbreaking for us. To make things harder, my dad is also struggling financially. With the toll of the cancer and treatment, he’s not capable of working.
The bills keep coming in, and the stress of trying to stay afloat is affecting his health and peace of mind. Just like everybody else that has had a cancer diagnosis, nobody deserves this. My dad has been an absolute warrior and we hate to see him struggle the way he does.
I’m reaching out with this fundraiser to ask for help. Any support, big or small, will go toward easing the financial burden on his head. Such as covering bills, transport to hospital appointments, and anything that can help lift his mood and give us the funny, happy dad we constantly had.
If you’re unable to donate, even sharing this page means the world to us.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading and supporting us.
