I am a very prideful person and not one to ask for help, ever...sadly I have no other choice, which is why I am here.
Also want to say now, thank you for taking the time to read this story of ours in advance!

My boyfriend, Thomas, and I welcomed our new baby boy October 2, 2023.

We found out in June that our baby boy was to be born with Down Syndrome, which was confirmed by an amniocentesis test.

During this pregnancy, I was diagnosed with gestational hypertension, adding this pushed my pregnancy into the high risk category which caused me to have appointments with the fetal center twice a week and with my OBGYN once a week, luckily it wasnt preeclampsia, however, it did mean that I had to be induced at 37 weeks, this means I missed significant time at my job and caused me to take my maternity leave earlier than anticipated.
After the birth of our son Monday, my hypertension has still continued to be a concern and is now pushing me into the possible chronic hypertension category.

I have decided to share my story today because I am in desperate need of your help! Due to having to miss a lot of time from my job which caused the early maternity leave, sadly also means my partially paid maternity leave will run out sooner than originally planned. Not only do I have two other children at home that I care for solely, I now will have a special needs child to have to learn to care for as well and juggle with our new normal day to day lives.
I know the strain of this pregnancy has been falling a lot on the shoulders of my wonderful boyfriend, since he is the only one left to help pick up my slack to help support myself, my two boys, as well as his own two children! Not to mention the normal bills we all have on top of all the other challenges we have encountered thus far and are sure to encounter in the future.

I have created this gofundme to try and help offset the struggles I have put on my boyfriend and also help to have a bit of a cushion while I am out of work, which could end up being indefinitely.
My job is paying a portion of my salary for the first 6 weeks of maternity leave however that will be, but assured me that my job will always be there!

Anything you can do to help, even a share or prays is greatly appreciated! It would mean more to us than you will ever be able to understand!
