Sammy is only 4 years old and has been diagnosed with battens disease (CLN2) there is no cure for this neurologic disease. With constantly seizuring the body will slowly loose function and he will lose his sight and speech. Generally a child will pass away anywhere between the ages of 6-10. They have recently brought a drug to Australia to help to slow down the deterioration process for the child and keep thier motor functions going for longer in which we have enrolled in. Sammy will be the 1st in Queensland to start this drug which is an infusion straight into the brain every fortnight.
