4 Peaks Challenge for Autism
Donation protected
Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page. On the 21st of June I'm embarking on Ireland's Four Peaks Challenge—climbing the highest mountains in each province back-to-back—to raise funds for Ballina Autism Friendly Town and the two autism classes in Culleens National School, Ballina, where I teach.
The challenge involves summiting:
Carrauntoohil (1,038m) in Co. Kerry—Munster's highest peak and the highest mountain in Ireland
Mweelrea (814m) in Co. Mayo—the tallest in Connacht
Slieve Donard (850m) in Co. Down—Ulster's summit
Lugnaquilla (925m) in Co. Wicklow—Leinster's highest point
I hope to complete the challenge in 36 hours.
All funds raised will be shared equally between-
Ballina Autism Friendly Town is a community-led initiative in County Mayo aiming to make the town more inclusive for autistic individuals. In partnership with AsIAm, it promotes autism awareness, trains businesses, adds sensory-friendly features to events, and improves public infrastructure like communication boards and parking. The initiative also runs educational outreach and works with local groups to foster inclusion. Ballina received a Sensory Accessibility Award in 2025 and is progressing toward full Autism Friendly accreditation.
Culleens NS Autism Classes ; money raised will be used to purchase outdoor equipment for our sensory garden and to help towards paying for class outings. This will greatly enrich the educational experiences of the children.
All donations however small towards this great cause would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your generosity ,
James.
