4 Marco’s Ride

Marco Kolcheff loved riding his bike. His mother and I went on long bike rides with Marco that we called “adventures”. Sometimes riding as far as 20 miles away from home and back. After watching a documentary where a young man drove his bike around the world for over two years, we talked about going on a long adventure ourselves. A bike ride across the state of Michigan! Then came January 2, 2023. Our beautiful Marco was taken from us. We are forever changed. Always looking for something to fill the void left by his passing. Helping others through Marco is the best way we know. And that is the reason for this GoFundMe.

I am going to ride Marco’s tricycle across the state of Michigan in his honor. His mother, along for the ride, waiting on standby if anything goes awry. We will donate to various nonprofits in Marco’s name. The main beneficiary will be P.E.A.C. Marco loved going to P.E.A.C. on the weekends, learning how to fix bikes, using public transportation, and getting lunch. Lunch was probably his main reason, but he loved all of it. P.E.A.C. is a nonprofit that empowers individuals with disabilities through active modes of transportation.

My journey starts July 23, 2024. Wish me luck! I am no spring chicken. And thanks in advance for your donation.
