Help Kelly Live His Remaining Time in Peace, Surrounded by Love
Kelly John Roy McKay is only 58 years old, a kind, gentle soul who has spent his life giving to others. Born and raised on Crocket Street in Marysville, Kelly is part of the community’s heartbeat. For 25 years he worked at the Marysville Irving, greeting customers with a smile, remembering names, and helping anyone who needed it.
Kelly is a devoted husband, father, and proud grandfather. He and his wife Mary share a rare and beautiful bond, true partners who do everything together. Their son Mark lives at home with them, along with their kitten Mittens. Their older son, Michael, has blessed the family with a granddaughter, Elizabeth, who is Kelly’s pride and joy.
Kelly has lived a life of quiet courage. He survived a near-fatal car accident in 1997, a sudden heart surgery in 2021, and life-threatening diabetic complications in 2023 when his family was urged to say their final goodbyes. Each time, he fought with everything he had, and marched on.
This week, Kelly received devastating news: advanced pancreatic cancer that has spread throughout his body, with only months left to live. He worked right up until the day before he was admitted to the hospital, that’s who Kelly is. Dedicated. Loyal. Loving.
Now he needs peace, comfort, and time with the people he loves most.
Kelly and Mary have worked hard their entire lives. Mary continues to work at the Walmart McDonald’s on Two Nations Crossing, while Kelly has given 25 years to the Irving community. They’ve always shown up for others, and now they need us to show up for them.
This GoFundMe has been created at the request of Kelly’s family to help ease the financial burden during these precious months, so they can focus on love, comfort, and time together.
Any donation, big or small, will make a difference and will be received with deep gratitude.
Thank you for your kindness, your generosity, and your love for this incredible family.
We all love you, Kelly.
