Hi everyone,
My 9 year old son Sam is trying to raise money to help the people of Lahaina who were affected by the Maui wildfires. Below is the YouTube link to his piano performance and why this means so much to him.

In 2021, the world was slowly coming out of the pandemic and looking for some form of normalcy. Many hadn’t seen their families in years and many grieved the lives lost. Online schooling, lockdowns, vaccines and masks had everyone stirring. My family wanted to feel the fresh air again, meet people and feel a connection with the world. We decided to visit Maui for a few days just to get away from it all.
The minute we stepped foot there, we were in love. We were greeted with Aloha; which means love or with love. There is just no place like Maui! The people, the spirit, the culture, the kindness; it was all magical. The community is built on aloha and ohana. And you know what Lilo from Disney said “ohana means family and family means no one gets left behind. “
When my dad told me about the wildfires in Lahaina, I was taken back to all the places we visited and people we met. The calm of the ocean and distant music of the luau. As I watched on the news all that disappeared. I wanted to help. I asked my parents how. Even though I am still learning, I love to play the piano. I decided to play a few songs and upload it here in the hope that people might listen to my music and help in whatever way they can. The songs I have chosen are Over the Rainbow and Sakura. Over The Rainbow is such an iconic song for Hawaii and Sakura means cherry blossoms which signifies rebirth and starting over.
Many families have lost their homes and loved ones. They need to start all over again. I request you to help. All funds will go to the Maui Strong Fund. This organization is helping provide direct financial support to individuals, families and businesses to rebuild. The road to recovery is a long one and we can all make a difference.
“Be the Aloha you wish to see in the world.”
Thank you for considering and taking the time to visit my page.
Sincerely,
Sam
